Electrical lockout procedures must be followed and safe isolation from supply voltage must be verified before work can commence on electrical equipment or installations. By locking-out, testing for voltage, earthing and barricading, electrical equipment and installations can be made safe to work on.

AC Voltage Detectors
Used to test for the presence or absence of supply voltage in substations, switchgear and overhead line installations. Complying with the requirements of IEC/SANS 61243-1, the Voltage Detector PHE III and PHE4 series can be used in wet weather conditions for voltages up to 132kV/50Hz and 420kV/50Hz respectively. The voltage detectors provide reliable indication, are easy to use and the modular design makes it easy to transport. Voltage present is indicated by a bright red LED and high decibel acoustic signal. Voltage absence is indicated by a constant bright green LED.
DC Voltage Detectors
Used to test for the presence or absence of supply voltage in direct current substations, switchgear and overhead line installations. The PHE/G series voltage detectors can be used in wet weather conditions for voltages from 1kVDC up 24kVDC. The voltage detectors provide reliable indication, are easy to use and the modular design makes it easy to transport. Voltage present is indicated by a bright red light indication and voltage absence is indicated by a constant bright green light indication.
Non-Contact Voltage Detectors
Used to test for the presence or absence of supply voltage in substations, switchgear and overhead line installations. The ASP and HSA series voltage detectors can be used in wet weather conditions for voltages from 1kV up 420kV/50Hz. Voltage present is indicated by a bright red LED and high decibel acoustic signal. Voltage absence is indicated by a bright constant green LED.
Two-Pole Phase Comparators
Used to test the in-phase condition of three-phase electrical systems. Complying with the requirements of IEC/SANS 61481, the resistive type PHV2P Two-Pole Phase Comparator is available for voltages from 3,3kV to 33kV 50Hz. The phase comparators provide the user with visual indication when the supply voltages are out of-phase.
Single-Pole Phase Comparators
Used to test the in-phase condition of three-phase electrical systems. Complying with the requirements of IEC/SANS 61481, the design of the PHV I Single-Pole Phase Comparator is similar to that of the capacitive voltage detectors and uses an electronic microprocessor to evaluate and indicate out-of-phase conditions. The PHV I Single-Pole Phase Comparator is available for voltages from 6kV to 36kV 50Hz and provide users with visual indication when the supply voltages are out of-phase.
Two-Pole LV Voltage Detector
Used to test for the presence or absence of supply voltage in low voltage panels and overhead line installations. The SPN series voltage detectors can be used in wet weather conditions for voltages from 50V to 1000V / 15Hz to 500Hz and DC. The voltage detector enclosure is extremely shock resistant, water and dust proof. Two version are available with different measuring ranges
Portable Earthing Equipment
Used for the earthing and short-circuiting of electrical installations before work commences. These devices are used in sub-stations, overhead lines, distribution panels and DC traction systems to ensure the safety of electrical personnel if supply voltages are reconnected accidentally. The ratings of these devices are based on short-circuit current, and the time duration for protection relays to operate and issue a trip signal to the supply breaker.
Operating Rods
  • Discharge Rods to discharge static charges from cables and capacitors,
  • Rescue Rods to remove personnel from the live working zone in the event of an electrical accident,
  • Fuse Tongs for the removal of high voltage fuses,
  • Earthing Rods for the installation of portable earthing equipment on busbars and overhead lines,
  • Switching Rods to perform switching operations on electrical equipment and to switch links and drop-out fuses on overhead lines.
Live Cleaning Equipment

The cleaning equipment is designed for the cleaning of electrical installation under live conditions, and for voltages up to 36kV/15Hz to 60Hz. Dry cleaning work is performed by suction cleaning with operating heads or brushing soiled parts of the installation while simultaneously sucking the dirt away. Loose layers of dust and pollutants are easily removed with little effort. Damp cleaning eliminates oily and tough contaminants with the help of sponges soaked with special insulating cleaning liquids.

The wireless inspection camera is used for the periodic inspection of electrical installation and equipment. The camera can be used for voltages up to 123kV/15 to 60Hz, and is available with various insulating rods.
Arc Fault Protection Gloves and Face Shields
The type APG gloves provide protection against thermal and mechanical risks. With excellent fit due to the special glove cut, protection is provided up to ATPV 38,6Cal/cm². The type APS face shields provide active protection in the event of an arc fault. With high Visible Light Transmission (VLT), protection is offered up to ATPV 25Cal/cm².
